The Tullochan Trust Club works with the young people on leadership skills, communication and teamwork abilities; it allows the young people to aspire to greater things, liberates potential and promotes active citizenship in the community. The Trust Club does this through a variety of activities including:
The Trust Club provides over 500 sessions tailored towards improving self esteem, confidence, and skill levels. Activities are offered during school, evenings after school and at the weekend - allowing the young people the opportunity to participate in activities depending on interests, transport and other commitments.
The Club works closely with the 3 local High School (2 Non-denominational and 1 Catholic) and has close links with West Dunbartonshire Council and Strathclyde Police. These partnerships allow the young people an opportunity to make a difference in their own communities and most importantly in their own lives.
The Trust Club is run by a project manager and is supported by a co-ordinator and a project assistant; the Club has several volunteers and a pool of sessional workers. These workers help run the Thursday night drop-in which has regular attendance of 70 – 80 young people. At the drop-in we run sports sessions, arts & crafts workshops, have team dynamics, receive visits from Raleigh International, Millennium Volunteers and the local Army Youth Team. The Club runs all year round and at the end of each year we organise residentials in the summer - rewarding the young people who have shown development over the previous year.
