The Tullochan Trust run 8 different youth groups on a weekly basis for 120+ local young people aged 8 – 18 years old.

Primary 5-7
The Homework Club provides a quiet place for study with 2 workers on hand to assist the young people with their homework and worksheets.

The Primary ‘Drop In’ is a more informal group where participants have the opportunity to play pool, surf the internet and socialise with their friends.

S1 – S3
Each secondary school age group have their own youth group.
These groups run during the evening from 7.00pm – 9.00pm and provide young people with the opportunity to participate in various organised activities in a supervised and safe environment.

Activities include drugs and alcohol education, smoothy making, music production, singing and song writing, food tasting, quiz nights and arts and crafts.
Young people in Secondary school also have their own Homework Group, which gives them the opportunity to have a quiet place to study. This is particularly beneficial in the lead up to Standard Grade and Higher exams.

S4+
When the young people reach 4th year, they have the opportunity to join the Youth Action Group and Senior’s Group.

The Senior’s Group has more of a focus on employability with the group receiving basic first aid and food and hygiene training. This group also participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme. The young people also have more of a say in what goes into their programme and also take responsibility for the organisation of activities and trips.

The Youth Action Group consists of young people interested in helping their local community. They consult with the young people in the other groups to give them a say in what they enjoy and also voice any problems or issues arising in their groups.
Members of the Youth Action Group also sit on the Haldane Youth Services steering group, which is made up of community members, parents and young people.

Many of the group volunteer in some of the younger groups within the Trust which is provides great experience as well as an excellent addition to college, university and job applications.
